Actual Production History Insurance

What is Actual Production History (APH) Insurance?

Actual Production History (APH) insurance is a risk management tool designed to protect farmers and agricultural producers from crop yield losses. At Alegria Insurance Services, we specialize in providing APH insurance to help safeguard your crops from unforeseen events such as weather damage, pest infestations, or disease.

Why Do I Need Crop Insurance?

APH insurance calculates your coverage based on the historical yields of your farm, ensuring that you receive fair compensation if your production falls short of your typical average due to insurable risks. With APH insurance, farmers can have peace of mind knowing that their livelihoods are protected even when circumstances are beyond their control.

Why Choose Alegria for Your Farm's APH Insurance?

Alegria Insurance Services is committed to supporting farmers by providing comprehensive APH insurance plans. With years of experience in the agricultural sector, we understand the unique risks that farmers face and tailor our insurance plans to meet those specific needs. Here’s why you should choose us:

Supplemental & Enhanced Coverage Options

Federal law restricts the Federal Crop Insurance Corporation (FCIC) from insuring farm-based multi-peril products at coverage levels exceeding 85%. However, farmers can use endorsements like the Supplemental Coverage Option (SCO) and the Enhanced Coverage Option (ECO) to extend coverage beyond this limit.

These endorsements are elected annually and are linked to the multi-peril policy that the producer purchases. The indemnities from these endorsements are calculated using county-level yields.

The ECO endorsement starts to provide payouts when the county’s average yield drops below 95% of USDA’s expectation for that year (or 90%, if chosen) and stops at 86%. Similarly, the SCO endorsement starts paying when the county-based loss drops below 86% of its expected level.
