About the Role
This role is ideal for an experienced public accounting professional who enjoys leading teams, developing client relationships, and serving as a trusted advisor to privately held businesses and business owners. The Tax Manager will oversee multiple engagements, manage tax compliance and planning projects, review complex returns, and help deliver high-quality client service and team performance.
As a Tax Manager, You Can Expect To:
- Manage and review individual, partnership, corporate, and related tax returns and engagements.
- Review, approve, and sign tax returns while ensuring accuracy, compliance, and adherence to federal and state tax requirements.
- Provide proactive tax planning and consulting services for closely held businesses, business owners, and individuals.
- Assist clients with tax strategy, entity structuring, financial reporting matters, transaction planning, and other advisory projects.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to clients by communicating clearly, anticipating needs, and providing practical recommendations.
- Oversee multiple engagements, deadlines, budgets, and team priorities while maintaining quality control standards.
- Build client relationships, expand professional networks, and support business development and client advisory services.
- Coach, mentor, train, and develop team members, fostering growth, leadership, and strong communication practices.
- Perform tax research and stay current with changing tax laws, regulations, and compliance requirements.

Technical and Professional Skills
- Strong understanding of individual and business tax compliance, planning, and advisory concepts.
- Ability to research tax questions and apply guidance to client-specific facts and circumstances.
- Advanced analytical, critical-thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word.
- Ability to develop proficiency in specialized tax, accounting, and workflow management software.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field required.
- Active CPA license required.
- Master of Taxation or equivalent preferred.
- Five or more years of public accounting experience preferred.
- Five or more years of tax experience, including individual and business returns, preferred.
